Just 7 kilometers from Luang Prabang, this mahout ecolodge consists of 19 separate chalet cabins on a bend in the scenic Nam Khan River and offers a picturesque atmosphere for relaxing and absorbing rural Lao life or engaging in the many outdoor activities.
Mahout Lodge is perfectly positioned amongst breathtaking scenery you will find 16 idyllic chalets nestled amongst the trees on the banks of the Nam Khan River. Each chalet has been constructed from locally grown and harvested wood, with tree trunk posts and elevated floors. They each have their own balcony, private bathrooms with a toilet, and hot and cold showers, and ceiling fans.
As you enter the grounds of the Mahout Lodge our Reception Area and Cafe/Restaurant beckon you to witness its incredible view - the glistening Nam Khan River, the jungle canopy and in the distance Phu Sang’ or ‘Elephant Hill’ that forms the shape of an elephant looking over Luang Prabang. Closer to the Lodge is a large swimming pool, bars, jungle walks and incredible photo opportunities.
A new Resort is also on its way to completion and will be open by the end of 2015.
Combining relaxation with fun you can also join in on our huge array of tours and activities. Mountain biking and hiking, Elephant rides, bamboo rafting, kayaking and tubing, visiting hill tribes and villages, touring waterfalls, cruises up the Mekong and so much more.
